It all began in 1952. Three men’s passion for collecting Radios and electronic equipment that became The Antique Wireless Association. From that humble beginning it has grown into an organization with over 2,100 members worldwide. But we are more than an organization of enthusiasts, we are a Museum! What began in a barn is now a historical building bursting with the treasure and provenance of one of the rarest collections in existence. But we have run out of room. Our current facilities are too small and outmoded for us and our ability to properly display our exhibits and artifacts is severely hindered. Thus the AWA has embarked on an ambitious project: to build a new world class Museum & Research Campus in Bloomfield, New York.
What began nearly six decades ago will evolve into the world’s premier and most important radio and electronic communications history museum, opening summer 2013. The new AWA Museum and Research Campus will be located in Bloomfield, NY, just two miles east of the present AWA Museum on Routes 5 & 20, in the popular Finger Lakes tourist region of Upstate New York.
